Aberfeldie Home Renovation
Complete renovation and addition of second storey
This Aberfeldie home renovation of a charming 1950s weatherboard home stood out for its exceptional framework, which was simply too good to be demolished. Recognizing the solid bones and character of the original structure, we chose to preserve its integrity while breathing new life into the space. Our project involved a complete internal renovation, updating every aspect of the interior to meet modern standards of comfort and style. In addition to revitalizing the existing layout, we also added a second storey, seamlessly blending the new with the old to create a spacious, contemporary family home that retains the charm and quality craftsmanship of its mid-century origins

This Aberfeldie home renovation is a testament to the value of thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and a commitment to preserving character while embracing modern living. Rather than opting for demolition, we saw the potential in the original structure and chose to restore and revitalise the home, breathing new life into what was once a tired and outdated residence. By carefully retaining key elements of the existing dwelling, we were able to honour its history while transforming it into a functional and refined space tailored to the needs of a growing family. The design focused heavily on reconfiguring the layout to maximise space, natural light, and flow, resulting in a significantly more open and practical home environment. Through strategic extensions and internal modifications, we created generous living zones, additional bedrooms, and flexible spaces that can adapt as the family’s needs evolve over time.
Outdoor area that also closes off to keep the pests out
Classic appeal with modern luxuries to suit.
A strong emphasis was placed on achieving a cohesive style that reflects both modern elegance and the client’s personal taste. Clean lines, high-quality finishes, and a carefully curated material palette were used throughout to deliver a timeless yet contemporary aesthetic. Beyond visual appeal, the renovation also incorporated the latest in modern building technology to enhance comfort, efficiency, and long-term performance. Energy-efficient glazing, upgraded insulation, and smart home integrations were seamlessly introduced to reduce energy consumption and create a comfortable living environment year-round. The result is a home that not only looks exceptional but performs at a high level, offering improved thermal efficiency and reduced running costs. This project showcases how an existing home in Aberfeldie can be thoughtfully reimagined to meet modern standards, providing a spacious, stylish, and highly functional residence without the need for complete redevelopment.
